WHY WE EXIST
We had a problem, and we solved it.
After COVID, established professionals like us were pouring time, money, and energy into filling the gaps in our social circles — and getting very little back. We were trying to meet people at our level for friendship, love, and business, and we wanted to be intentional about how we spent our time. We were busy again: traveling, seeing family, rebuilding our lives.
What we found was event after event where nobody had been curated at all — even when we'd been promised otherwise. Events full of 20-year-olds and 60-year-olds. Dinner clubs full of people who didn't care about food. Travel clubs full of people who didn't travel and were simply lonely. Even the decent events still meant spending the entire night working the room, hoping to land on one person we actually clicked with over something and wanted to see again.
We got sick of it. We knew that if someone simply put us in a room where everyone already met a basic bar, the connections would take care of themselves. We couldn't find that anywhere, so we built it! The Table For 12 was born and grew to 100+ members in NYC.
In 2026, things changed in the landscape of how people socialize and we recognized this was not what our members wanted any more. Dinner clubs became a dime a dozen, social clubs multiplied into white noise, and our members lives got busier and busier. They were often out of town for our pre-scheduled dinners meaning connections that should have happened, didn’t and events became stressful again for our members.
What our members wanted wasn't another dinner they wished they hadn't missed. It was access to the community itself — the right people, vetted — so they could connect on their own terms. They were already proactive about reaching out and making plans so they just needed the access to the people and they could meet on their own time and at their own restaurants.
So we pivoted, and VETTED was born. Same members, same criteria, same vibe, same mission. Now they meet through our private community whenever they want, and make plans with the people they click with — for friendship, love, or business.
